WAYNE ROONEY BECOMES ENGLAND'S ALL-TIME LEADING GOAL SCORER

Wayne Rooney has done it! He is now England's all-time leading goalscorer.

The 29-year-old netted his historic 50th goal passing Sir Bobby Charlton's record with a penalty in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.

His magic 50th strike came in the shape of an 84th-minute penalty which put the three lions 2-0 up against Switzerland.

As soon as the goal went in, football's great and good like Rio Ferdinand, Jamie Carragher among others as well as members of the public lined up to pay tribute to the Manchester United striker.

Wayne Rooney told his teammates it "means the world" to him to have broken the England goalscoring record in a heartfelt dressing room speech and later tweeted this:
Congrats to him!
