Beyoncé and Jay Z have a new place to call home. The superstar couple has rented a $45 million mansion in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles.

The 20,000-square-foot home was previously owned by former L.A. Dodgers owner Frank McCourt. According to TMZ, McCourt sold the house to a British billionaire last year for $45 million, but the new owner was hardly in L.A. so he decided to put it on the market.

Beyoncé and Jay Z swooped in and signed a one-year lease at $150,000/month. The couple had to vacate their old rental in the same neighborhood after the owner decided to sell it.

Their new five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate boasts an Olympic-sized indoor pool, a steam and massage room, a gourmet commercial kitchen, library/screening room, dance studio, and an outdoor pool with a waterfall and formal gardens.

They will be neighbors with Hugh Hefner, whose famed Playboy Mansion is just down the street. The house was also used in the 1998 film The Big Lebowski.

The Carters moved to L.A. earlier this year and enrolled their three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy in a toddler program at an elite private school.

A convicted car snatcher, Somadina Enyiobi, 26, confessed that he left his village in Oraifite in Anambra State to Lagos state with a mission to steal and become a successful rich man.

According to a report by PM News, Somadina made the confession during his trial at the Isolo Magistrates’ court where he was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment without an option of fine for conspiracy and stealing.

He was arrested after a failed attempt to steal an SUV from Green Estate along Ago Palace Way in Okoto recently. Samadina had gone into a compound with two of his gang members and forced a househelp to give them the keys to her boss's Venza SUV. While attempting to drive the SUV out of the estate, he was arrested while his other gang members ran away.

A woman who ran with a friend's baby in Lagos and fled to Anambra for four days has revealed why she did it .Onyebuchi Jennifer, who was arrested in Anambra State said she stole the baby in the Ajegunle area of Lagos and fled to Anambra State so that her lover could pay her bride price and marry her.
The 26-year-old added that she had lied to her lover in Okija, Anambra State, that the baby was the fruit of their relationship.

It had been reported that Jennifer, who also hails from Anambra, had befriended the baby’s mother, Aina Adetola, for about two weeks, before she carried out the act on Saturday, September 26.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Jennifer, who claimed to be an orphan, said she got started living with the man in Anambra State in October 2014, adding that he refused to pay her bride price until she had a child for him.
The suspect, who said she came to Lagos in June 2015 to look for a way to get pregnant, added that she took the baby to her lover to convince him to pay her bride price.

A sex worker Precious Osas, 36, has been arrested and charged before an Isolo Magistrates’ Court for biting off the ear of Omokwa Chikwado, a 25-year-old man.
The incident occurred over a scuffle, which emerged after sex at an unidentified hotel in Okota, Lagos State, where they lodged for a night, P.M News reports.
Osas, a commercial sex worker, allegedly collected N3, 500 from Chikwado for an all-night sex romp but failed to fulfill her own part of the bargain.

Trouble started after Osas reportedly allowed Chikwado a round of sex and told him she wasn’t ready for another round until he paid her more money.
However, Osas allegedly struggled to cope with Chikwado throughout the period the sex lasted because of his high libido.

THE VATICAN SACKS PRIEST FOR BEING GAY

The Vatican dismissed a priest from his post in a Holy See office today Saturday Oct. 3rd after he told a newspaper he was gay and urged the Catholic Church to change its stance on homosexuality, Reuters reports. Monsignor Krzystof Charamsa was removed from his position at the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican's doctrinal arm where he had worked since 2003, a statement said.

Charamsa, 43, and a Polish theologian, announced he was gay and had a partner in a long interview with Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper on Saturday. He later held a news conference with his partner, a Spanish man, and gay activists at a Rome restaurant.

They had planned a demonstration in front of the Vatican but changed the venue several hours before it was due to have started. The Vatican said Charamsa's dismissal had nothing to do with his comments on his personal situation, which it said “merit respect”.

On October 1, 2015, Nigeria celebrated it’s 55th Independence anniversary where the President, Muhammadu Buhari gave a speech saying, ‘You and I and all of us must appreciate that we all have our part to play if we want to bring change. Following the speech, NET reached out to top Nigerian showbiz stars who all gave their thoughts on the journey of Nigeria so far and their expectations from the Buhari led administration.

Ushbebe: So far, from everything we’ve been going through, it’s clear that there’s a new phase for our country, we are experiencing it already. So going forward, if they go according to the plan for now, I feel we are definitely going to cut clean in Nigeria. If we stay focused to the idea of cutting down on corruption, we are definitely going to find a soft landing.

A few days ago, Mavin act, Korede Bello dropped an inspirational song titled ‘Somebody Great‘ featuring Asa. In an exclusive chat with NET, he recounts how he got to seal the duet with award winning international singer.

In his words, I’ve been a fan of Asa even before I started music, her album was the first I ever bought with my money and I remember years ago, in all interviews I did I always said I’ll love to work with Asa, so fortunately for me, we met at an event, we talked and invited her to the studio, we played her a couple of songs and she likes this one, so we asked if she could jump on it and that’s it’.

ANGRY CUSTOMER CALLS POLICE TO COMPLAIN PROSTITUTE GAVE HIM 10 MINUTES INSTEAD OF 30

An angry customer was so infuriated by poor service he got the police involved to complain that a prostitute had not given him enough time.
The angry man called officers to say he had paid for 30 minutes with the sex worker, but she had only provided 10 minutes.

ARMED ROBBERS FORCE VICTIMS TO SERVE THEM FOOD DURING ATTACK

Robbers early Thursday morning invaded streets in Ejigbo community in Lagos State, western Nigeria.During the three-hour attack, they forced one of their victims to serve them food before they began their operation.
They reportedly sat in the sitting room and were served eba (food made from fried cassava paste) and soup which they ate before they started the operation.
The armed men stormed Adenuga and Joseph streets at about 1.30 am and carted away money and valuable properties belonging to residents.According the victims, the operation lasted till 4.30 am.

17-YEAR-OLD BOY FALLS TO DEATH WHILE TAKING EXTREME SELFIE

The 17-year-old Russian school boy who goes by the Instagram name (@drewsssik) fell off from the roof-top of a nine-story building while trying to take an extreme selfie. The extreme selfie is the latest craze among teenagers. According to media reports, the boy climbed the building in Vologda city with a friend to capture a stunning selfie while dangling off the towering structure. He approached the edge in fading light and lowered himself over it with a rope and a smartphone. Unfortunately, the rope suddenly gave way and he fell.

EX-PETROLEUM MINISTER DIEZANI ALISON-MADUEKE ARRESTED IN LONDON

The immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, was on Friday arrested in London.According to PREMIUM TIMES ,the former minister, who was one of the most powerful officials of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, was arrested Friday morning by the UK National Crimes Agency, alongside four other people.

The identities of the four other people arrested along with her could not be immediately ascertained.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt she was arrested for offences related to bribery, corruption and money laundering.

Two top British officials in London confirmed the development .They requested not to be named because they had no permission to speak on the issue.
When contacted, the British High Commission in Nigeria confirmed that some arrests were made Friday but declined to disclose the identities of those involved.
Joseph Abuku, Press and Public Affairs Officer, said,

“This morning, five people between the ages of 21 and 60 were arrested on suspicion of bribery and corruption offences. The crimes are being investigated by the National Crimes Agency.“The National Crime Agency does not confirm identity at arrest nor provide information that could be used to corroborate the identity of an arrested individual.”

It is not clear whether the former minister was arrested based on request from the Nigerian government.
