LIL WAYNE SAYS, HE WOULD ANNIHILATE DRAKE, WHEN ASKED IF DRAKE HIS A BETTER RAPPER THAN HIM (WATCH VIDEO)

Lil Wayne jumped on Cari Champion’s “Be Honest” ESPN Radio podcast for a wide-ranging discussion touching on everything from the first-ever Lil WeezyAna Fest to Drake. Champion started off by asking him about the festival, which he started in order to raise money to help rebuild his hometown after Hurricane Katrina.

“I brought out every era of New Orleans music, up until me and my music, and it was crazy for me to be able to be the last man standing,” explained Wayne.

Then she asked him what he thought of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton. “It was awesome,” he gushed. “Of course they left a lot out, but the movie was great. They had some characters in there that didn’t get it right, but that’s OK.”

He reflected on getting a phone call from Jay Z early in his career, who told him, “Lil’ homie, I see you.” “At that moment, my mama couldn’t tell me nothing,” said Weezy. “It’s crazy how something like that, something so specific could make you feel solidified. That phone call right there was serious to me.”

Wayne also described the first time he discovered Drake—he recalls briefly telling him, “I see you,” and encouraging him to rap about “whatever you wanna rap about. Rap about your little TV show, rap about girls, don’t start singing about killing nobody. Rap about what you know, keep it Canadian.”

When asked whether or not he thinks he’s a better rapper than his protégé, he makes things clear. “Man, I annihilate that guy.”

However, he shied away from discussing the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef, only saying that he loves “Back to Back.” “I think everybody does,” said Weezy.

As for Tha Carter V, he said the album is finished and he’s currently working on a deal to release it. “I’m in the studio every single day. I’m not working on any certain thing, I just be working,” he shared. “What I am working on right now is a comfortable way and a comfortable deal to put Tha Carter V out.” Watch video below
