He announced his unlikely bid to run for President of the United States at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
And despite the doubts surrounding Kanye West's chances of sitting in the White House's Oval Office in five years' time, he's got one firm supporter in fellow rapper and former N.W.A. star, Ice Cube.
The 46-year-old told Daily Mail Australia on Friday as he promoted new movie Straight Outta Compton in Sydney that he is backing the Gold Digger singer as president and his wife Kim Kardashian West as the First Lady, but would not consider running alongside him as his Vice President.
'I'm voting for Kanye,' Ice Cube told Daily Mail Australia. 'Who is better than Kanye that would run?'
While Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim as First Lady is something that Ice Cube thinks would be 'cool'.
'If that's what it is, that's what it is,' he added. 'No matter who is the president, you got to all get up and go to work in the morning.'
Sitting alongside his 24-year-old lookalike son, O'Shea Jackson Jr, who pays him in the Box Office host movie, Ice Cube said that a role as Kanye's right-hand man would not suit him.
I'm not into politics like that,' he laughed.
While O'Shea said: 'No!'
'You know, I'm into helping my people get over the hump. I don't have time to help everybody,' Ice Cube added. 'We got a lot of work to do.'
