Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to terminate the dreams of Apprentice hopefuls after being named the new host of the US version of the show.
The movie star, 68, is taking over from Presidential candidate Donald Trump next year after the businessman quit makers NBC.
The billionaire, 69, parted ways with the broadcaster after a high profile fall out over his controversial comments about Mexican immigrants in the US.
Schwarzenegger will take over in the 2016 – 2017 television season.
“We are thrilled to be opening a powerful new chapter in the story of the ‘Apprentice’ franchise,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment said.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves.
“It was Arnold’s personal passion for the format that Mark Burnett and Donald Trump built over the last decade, as well as his fresh take on how to take it to new heights for today’s audiences, that made him the man to hire. ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ … will be back!”
“After leaving the show to run for political office, Donald made it clear that he wanted ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ to be able to continue to raise millions of dollars annually for worthy causes, and now NBC and I have found an amazing new leader to do just that,” said executive producer Mark Burnett.
“Gov. Schwarzenegger will use his vast and highly successful business, political and media experience to drive this hit franchise to new heights.”
Following the fall out between NBC and Trump, TV bosses dumped the jointly owned Miss USA and Miss Universe pageant broadcasts.
In a statement the company said: “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.
“Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump,” the company said late this morning.
“To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC .
“In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in Celebrity Apprentice on NBC.”
Trump kicked off his campaign in June by saying that the US "has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems".
“When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best,” he added.
“They're not sending you… They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us.
“They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
