SELENA GOMEZ REVEALS HEARTBREAK OVER JUSTIN BIEBER WON'T STOP HER FROM FALLING IN LOVE AGAIN

She was under constant scrutiny during her three-year on and off relationship with Justin Bieber, but Selena Gomez says that she has no regrets about living her life in the spotlight.

In a frank interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine, the 23-year-old Come & Get It singer opened up about how she was often 'destroyed' by the press and even chased by helicopters due to her prolific romance with 21-year-old Justin.

However, the Hispanic-American beauty hasn't put off her search for love, and spoke openly about she plans to conduct her next relationship in the same way, regardless.

Three years after she landed her breakout role in the Disney show Wizards of Waverley Place, at nearly 19, Selena began dating Justin Bieber, starting a romance that would thrust her into the glare of the media spotlight.

'I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love,' explained the 23-year-old in the interview.

'There's such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it's good press.

'Also throw in the fact that you are a teenager - it makes it more difficult. The next relationship will be something dear to me. There is no way I will ever hide my life.'

On the lasting effect the relationship, which ended in 2014, has had on her life, Selena admitted: 'It's difficult for people to separate us. The internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it.'

And it's not the first time that the public has been fixated with Selena's love life, with the media previously focusing on her first ever relationship with Nick Jonas, 22, in 2008.

During this romance, the pair both wore purity rings, which is usually accompanied by a religious vow to abstain from sex before marriage.

Selena told The ST Style: 'I'm not embarrassed to say that. I'm also not embarrassed to say that the ring has come off.'

The 23-year-old was made fun of at the time, admitting: 'Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to get through the criticism, and then you're in your closet crying.

'It's been like that for me a couple of times, but I only want to learn from those things.'

But one source of strength throughout all the hard times, has been best friend Taylor Swift, who Selena recently starred her celebrity-studded music video, Bad Blood.

'I can count on one hand the people I could call and who would be there for me,' she gushes. 'Taylor is one of the greatest people.'

'When I split with my first boyfriend [Nick Jonas] and I was really sad about it, she flew into town with homemade cookies and a bunch of junk food.

'To this day, if I called her, she would do the same thing, despite being one of the busiest people in the world.'

Selena Gomez's upcoming album Revival is out in October, and the 23-year-old will join Gwen Stefani on season nine of The Voice USA in September.
