Former Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins has set a goal scoring record in the American league as the second player to have scored in five straight games for the MLS, Seattle Sounders. The 30-year-old Lagos born striker has scored in every game he featured in since August 30, 2015.
He now shares the record with Portugese striker Freddy Montero but stand a chance to set a new record if he scores against LA Galaxy on Monday.
Obagoal has scored against Portland Timbers, Toronto, San Jose Earthquakes, Vancouver Whitecaps and Sporting KC. Many Nigerian football fans have also been requesting that Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh recalls Obafemi who is the highest paid African player in the MLS to the Nigerian squad.
