DAVID BECKHAM GETS REPLACED BY SON, BROOKLYN BECKHAM AT OLD TRAFFORD

David Beckham received a standing ovation at Old Trafford during Saturday's UNICEF match - as he was replaced by son Brooklyn.

Legendary football names have taken to the Theatre of Dreams for the Match for Children between a Great Britain and Ireland XI and Rest of the World side.

The former England captain lined up alongside the likes of Jamie Carragher, Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen at Old Trafford, while Ronaldinho and Luis Figo were among the opponents.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti are the two managers.

Beckham had a role to play in the opener as he crossed for Paul Scholes to head home.
And with 15 minutes to go, Beckham's number was called as he was replaced by his son - also wearing the famous No.7 shirt.

The 16-year-old entered the Old Trafford pitch to a rousing ovation, after receiving a kiss from his famous dad.

Brooklyn Beckham had been with Arsenal's academy last season and had hoped to be handed a two-year deal.

However, the Gunners opted not to retain the teenager - who plays on the right of midfield like his dad.

It is unclear if he has found a new club, although there are reports he has decided not to pursue a career in football.

His brothers Romeo and Cruz are also enrolled at Arsenal's academy.
